Which is Best in Civic Life & Local Authorities


Debate is raging in some arenas as to whether or not committees are better than strong individual leaders in civic life.

The UK coalition government has set out new guidelines for local city administration, offering local councils the choice of structures involving either an elected mayor or an appointed leader.

What are the pros & cons with each? Where does a traditional committee-based council structure fit with this?
